Update! 11/13/2009
Lots to blog about today!! Here are two of the top news stories at S.O.U.L. #1 - We've started pre-ordering the wrapper handbags!! We're starting with the Mini, in three different designs. The perfect little clutch for holding keys, some money, a lipstick... or your daily supply of healthy chocolate! Bless a friend, family member, or Xocai team leader with the gift of eco-fashion! $29, and 10% of proceeds goes to the Xo-Love Project! Approx. 6x4, self-lined, zipper closure, and detachable recycled rubber wristlet. Visit http://www.scribd.com/doc/22487639/SOUL-Pre-Order-Form to get the pre-order form. Print, fill in, and fax it to us! #2 - The wrappers are starting to flow! Thank you SO much to all the Xocai distributors who are saving and donating their wrappers to us! Without you and your waste-reduction efforts, none of this program or these products would be available. I now receive almost daily mailings of wrappers from all over Canada and parts of the US. We were BLOWN AWAY last weekend at the Oakville Regional event, when we collected almost 6,000 wrappers! Thank you! But there are definitely more wrappers out there that need purpose! With over 137,000 distributors world-wide, there are as many as 13 million wrappers being thrown in the garbage every month! Please spread the word to save your wrappers, and we can prevent 87 tonnes of garbage from going into landfills! We're so excited about our movement forward! It's amazing to think about how much has happened in just a few months. I'm grateful to all those who show their support, and have a desire to respect the planet and help it's people. We CAN all make a difference one wrapper at a time... ♥ Jinelle @ S.O.U.L. Environmentalism with an EDGE! 10/02/2009
We have our first Volunteer Wrapper Recovery Team of 25 high school students! Today, Dayne met with an environmental club called EDGE, here in Waterloo Ontario, at Bluevale Collegiate Institute. We had amazing response, and the kids are so excited to be a part of S.O.U.L. and the XWI! Here in Ontario, high school students are required to complete 40 hours of community service in order to graduate. Our Wrapper Recovery Team will complete some of their hours by being involved in the project! Thanks to Beth, an EDGE member, for having Dayne come and speak to your awesome club! You know, I really do believe in this young generation. I believe it's a generation of compassion, awareness and action. Young people can do so much more than we give them credit for sometimes.... and if they are given the opportunity to do good and make change, they will rise to the occasion! If you know of a group of young people who would LOVE to be involved in environmental and humanitarian outreach, send me a message! "Everyone can make a difference one wrapper at a time." ♥ Jinelle It has definitely been a thrilling Thursday for S.O.U.L.! We've been featured in MXI's Thrilling Thursday newsletter! Go check it out... Thank you so much to Andrew Brooks for his support and for spreading the word about S.O.U.L. and the XWI! This past weekend marked the official start of the Xocai Wrapper Initiative (XWI)! Special thanks to Judy & Ian Murray for allowing S.O.U.L. to be at the MXI Toronto Regional! What an awesome experience! I really had no idea what to expect as far as interest and support, but I was completely blown away! Here are the grand totals: We collected almost 12,000 wrappers from Xocai distributors! We raised $640 to plant 6,400 trees with Trees for the Future! What an incredible example of people coming together to do good! I know it sounds cheesy, but that's what S.O.U.L. is all about! Showing our united love. We now have full corporate support from Andrew Brooks, and are being featured in this week's Thrilling Thursday! Thank you so much Andrew, you are phenomenal! I also had my first-ever interview by Double-Diamond Executive Angelina Girard for DnAlive TV! So keep an eye out for that one :) AAAND the whole event was filmed! My Mom ordered the DVD right away :) I was up on stage twice, so It'll be like a home video! :) I am SO excited about where this is going!
